I noticed on Saturday,Anchors advert for apartments to rent at 23 schemes across the country. They also offered £200 upon moving in. When are they going to realise they are grossly overcharging. They are killing the golden goose who are lining their pockets.[Pensioners] If there was alternative housing available, there would be a mass exodus away from these profiteers. Not for profit charity, who are they fooling. Ron Hector.

Hello Ron
My name is Joel and I am Anchor’s Customer Relations Team Lead
Thank you for your comment and for raising your concerns about our charges, which Anchor take extremely seriously.
We strive hard to deliver good value for money and charges for Anchor properties are generally lower than those for similar accommodation in the same area. We would always encourage anyone who has concerns about rent levels or anything else related to their housing or care to contact us, either by calling 0845 140 2020 or by emailing us at customer.relations@anchor.org.uk.
I have sent you a personal message so we can discuss your specific concerns and work out how I might be able to help.
Thanks and I look forward to speaking with you
Kind regards
Joel

Anchor Imposed an increase of £8.50 PER WEEK on myself and similar amounts on all other tenants. This on top of a similar increase last year.
Yes I do question your charging policy, We have not been given any reasons for this increase, typical Anchor arrogance.
.Are they aware, its the tenants who are paying their wages, they will be when our voice is heard.
We should have a say in how we are managed, not dictated to.
I would like to ask if Anchor have made any management economies, that could have reduced these increases.
Austerity, not I suspect for management, who just pass on costs to tenants.
Who said, We Are All In This Together !
Regards Ron Hector.
Hello Ron
Thank you for your reply - Please accept my apologies I have not been able to reply sooner.
I understand your frustration with the increase in your rent and willpersonally contact you via a personal message so that we can talk about your own personal circumstances so as not to discuss your details in a public arena.
I am also concerned that you feel you are being dictated to. We strive to work with our customers best interests in mind so would again ask that we discuss your own personal circumstances.
I am more than happy to discuss anything with you so that I can work with you, as after all as you quite rightly point out, Anchor would not be here without our customers.
I look forward to speaking with you
Kind regards
Joel
Permalink Reply by Ron Hector on June 11, 2012 at 21:07 Hello Joel, Thanks for your reply.
The only problem with my circumstances is that Anchor are helping themselves to my savings.
I have done some local research [Leeds] Anchor are by far the most expensive, like for like.
My flat is a 1 bed single =£468 / mth.
The most expensive housing association flat I could find in Leeds is,
1bed double at Halliday Court Garforth Leeds=£99.26 / wk.
I found others,much cheaper.
Its not that Anchor flats are superior in any way.its the bloated management costs that make
them so expensive. When we get an independent body to to look at management cost per
tenant,the truth will reveal all.
I note you did not respond to my query, any management economies being made ?
There is a first time for everything !
Regards Ron Hector.
Hi Ron
Thank you for replying to my earlier message. Thanks also for providing some background info on the other locations you have been looking at in the Leeds area. I can see that at a glance the examples you have given me are on face value less. I unfortunately don't know what those costs do cover. Anchor provide a very transparent and up front cost where we try to combine as many services as possible and offer as much to our customers so that we can provide an all round quality but cheaper package. I would welcome you again to speak to either myself or your local management team who can look at some of the finer details with you if you so wish.
As a not for profit organisation, Anchor strives to keep our locations and services providing the best quality of places and ways to live.
I hope you will take my offer to speak personally as I appreciate you have some important questions which I can discuss with you in much more detail confidentially
Kind regards
Joel
Hello Ron
I hope Joel's responses have helped answer your questions. I believe you now have his contact details and you can both continue your conversation directly with one another.
This conversation has understandably lead you to discuss your own situation in some detail, as site moderator I'm going to close it now as I'm concerned the details are becoming quite specific and personal details alluding to where you live and your personal situation might be a little bit sensitive to have on an open public website.
If you have any questions feel free to message me as ever,
Kathryn :)
