This weekend a new website was launched to help consumers of childcare and eldercare.

The Good Care Guide aims to help families find, rate and review care providers they have used.

It will enable people to exchange views about care providers, as well as rate providers for quality of care, facilities and environment, and value for money.

The website has been developed jointly by United for All Ages and My Family Care, who hope it will help improve quality as well as transparency.

It has been described as a TripAdvisor for care, and the damage malicious comments could do has been highlighted as a concern, but surely it's just another source of information for the consumer?

What do you think?

Would you use this website when looking for care? And how much would you trust what was written by other users?

Hello Purple Person,

Had a quick look, and bore in mind your reservation regarding potentially harmful malicious comments.

I really hope Paul Burstow is as good as his word.

Regards,

Richard.
