well given the choice between the lovely bright colourful picture of Jan and the somewhat sombre picture of you....not hard to choose....so why are you hiding?...as you do not appear to be looking out in the picture...mmmm...food for thought....maybe I should paint your portrait in very vivid colours.....only joking....

I find it quite comical to be having a discussion about colour, as that has been my job for so many years (art teacher/art lecturer/artist) teaching people how to make colour charts etc., and how to use colour.

Well you know what they say Dave it wouldn't do if we all liked the same thing, and of course many books have been written about the psychology of colour and how it affects us.   and yes Jan, of course there are beautiful things that are coloured grey, from doves to silver birch etc.,..but when you think of these things, they suggest calm, quiet, peaceful.....is that really what we want to portray,....no if this is a revolution then grey does not cut the mustard....as for rainbows, well thats whimsical, we have gone from blamange pink to now blue peter rainbows....interesting.....equally as unsuitable as the name Grey Pride...too much like Gay Pride....america is Grey Panther...nope you are not going to change my mind.....

Hi Dave

Nice to be 'friended'. Interesting discussion about grey and other shades, isn't it? We do have funny reactions to different colours, and of course colours have different connotations in different cultures (red for example - a wide variance). When I think of grey, I think pleasant thoughts: doves, elephants, Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, the bark of a silver birch... A bit whimsical today! Enjoy the website, Jan

Of course there are lots of different shades of grey, but grey is grey which suggest tired, weary and old....pink blancmange I agree is not a pleasant sight either....and thats suggests babies...certain colours make you sit up and look....grey is not one of them.

although I notice the grey on grey pride seems to have become more of a lavender shade...oh well one step further....no Dave don't leave us, we need all hands to the tiller!!
